Spring is on it's way :: Mini Wishlist

You have no idea how excited I am right now. Last night I went to pump (6pm) and it was still light! This morning by the time I got out of the shower (just after 7am) it was light!

I need to start doing some spring/summer shopping.

I can't wait til I can wear dresses again. I want to get some white dresses this summer. (I'm also thinking of trying out my first spray tan).

A full summer wishlist to come! The sun just makes everything in life better (I get major SAD (seasonal afffective disorder) in winter).

New Hair :: Getting ready for summer!

A while ago I bought a deal online for my usual hairdressers. It's no secret that I get bored very easily with hair colours, and love to change it up.

I'm trying to grow my hair long, so I didn't have much change to the cut. I got blonde highlights! My hair was a medium-dark brown before, so I was expecting to see that through...not so much, I'm quite blonde now!

I quite like it - especially the different colours in it, I bought some purple shampoo so that it doesn't go too orange-y!

I'm going to go to LUSH this weekend and get some more H'suan Wen Hua hair mask. It did wonders to my hair, and I recently ran out.

Do you like to go lighter for summer?

Beauty Review :: Sleek Pan Tao Blush

I recently received my first ever Sleek product in a makeup swap. I admit, I was a bit scared to try this, as it looks fairly bright!

Packaging: 8/10 It's very cute and compact which makes it easy to just chuck into your makeup bag and take it with you. The packaging is nice, and feels like good quality. The size of the blush itself is good and  there is a big mirror in it too - although I never use these.

Colour/Wearability: 8/10 This shade is not as scary as it looks when swatched/blended onto your cheeks. Below is a swatch of Pan Tao, applied with three strokes (note, I have very pale arms).

What I like about this blush is that it can be built up to be more obvious, or it is very easy to apply subtly.

I think it looks almost like a light bronzer here.

Overall: 8/10 While not a colour for everyone I like how it looks and I think I will get a bit of use out of it. I also think it will last me quite a while.

Have you tried this blush? What are your thoughts on Sleek blushes?

Essence Nail Polish Review :: 38 Choose Me!

Last night I tried out one of the nail polishes that came in my recent makeup swap.

The colour of this nail polish is really hard to capture in photo. It's a teal colour, which looks much more blue in real life.

What I like about this polish is that while it is glittery, it doesn't have that glittery feeling. As soon as I put it on it made me think of mermaids. The colour is exactly like a mermaids tail.

It looks great, and goes on really easily - the formula is perfect. It dries pretty quickly and I haven't had any chipping in the last 12 hours.

Have you used essence polishes before? What do you think of the colour?

Makeup Swap :: + NOTD

Recently Seanna from Makeup and Me did a makeup swap.

I was very happy with what I received...here is a wee look at what I got:

1. MUA eyeshadow - (9) Pearl - a bright purple eyeshadow with blue specs in it, definitely my new favourite eyeshadow. You can see it in this post here.

2. MeMeMe - Eccentric (25) - a pale purple eyeshadow.

3. Rimmel Pro - 291 Urban Princess - a bright pink nail polish (see below for NOTD)

4. Essence Colour and Go - 38 Choose Me - A glittery green/blue nail polish

5. MUA Lipgloss - Shade 4 - An orange looking lipgloss which goes on mostly clear with a gold sheen.

6. Elf Luscious Liquid Lipstick - Baby Lips - A twist lipgloss that goes on a light pink.

7. Sleek Pan Tao Blush - I was a bit worried when I saw the name of this, I've always been scared of orange blushes, but I wore it the other day and liked how subtle it could be applied. Review to come.

8. 17 Mirror Shine Lipstick - Belle - A medium pink lipstick.

9. Essence Gel Liner - Berlin Rocks (3) - A dark purple gel eyeliner.

10. Beauty UK Eyes - A quad of four eyeshadows (purple, light blue, white, medium blue) in one compact.

11. Beauty UK Eyeshadow Collection - A palette of 10 blue/purple/balck eyeshadows.

Swatches/reviews to come on many of the above products over the next couple of weeks. Today's is the Rimmel Pro nail polish in Urban Princess.

While I like the colour of this nail polish, and the new maxi applicator brush, I found it needed a couple of coats to look opaque. Even with a base and top coat it started chipping after 2 days, even though the bottle says it wil stay chip free for 10 days.

That could mean I need a new top/base coat though - mine was only cheap. I put a couple of nail stickers on too.

What do you think of Rimmel nail polishes?
